| Description | Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0), Also known as beta-glucosylceramide or beta-glccer, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as glycosyl-n-acylsphingosines. Glycosyl-N-acylsphingosines are compounds containing a sphingosine linked to a simple glucosyl moiety. A beta-D-glucosylceramide where the ceramide N-acyl group is specified as docosanoyl. Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) was first documented in 1984 (PMID: 6423755). Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) Is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa) (PMID: 12606053) (PMID: 3289655) (PMID: 3752966) (PMID: 15727820). |
