DescriptionAustalide I, also known as gly-leu-tyr, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as xanthenes. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a xanthene moiety, which consists of two benzene rings joined to each other by a pyran ring. Austalide I is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Austalide I is found in Aspergillus ustus. Mycotoxin from the food storage mould (Aspergillus ustus).
