Hydroxycinnamic acids and derivatives are compounds containing an cinnamic acid (or a derivative thereof) where the benzene ring is hydroxylated. Dehydrozingerone is found in Curcuma longa , Fibraurea tinctoria and Zingiber officinale . Dehydrozingerone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
