These are highly oxygenated, modified terpenoids with a prototypical structure either containing or derived from a precursor with a 4,4,8-trimethyl-17-furanylsteroid skeleton. All naturally occurring citrus limonoids contain a furan ring attached to the D-ring, at C-17, as well as oxygen containing functional groups at C-3, C-4, C-7, C-16 and C-17. Protoxylocarpin H is found in Xylocarpus granatum . Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,2R,7R,9R,10R,14S,15S)-14-[(3S,5R)-5-[(2R)-2-hydroxy-3,3-dimethyloxiran-2-yl]oxolan-3-yl]-2,6,6,10,15-pentamethyl-5-oxotetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadeca-3,11-dien-9-yl acetate. |
