These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Mikanin 3-sulfate is found in Mikania cordata and Mikania micrantha . Mikanin 3-o-sulfate is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
