DescriptionKatononic acid, also known as katononate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. 3-Oxoolean-12-en-29-oic acid is found in Plenckia populnea, Sandoricum indicum , Sandoricum koetjap, Sandoricum koetjape and Tripterygium wilfordii. 3-Oxoolean-12-en-29-oic acid was first documented in 2019 (PMID: 31905962). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Katononic acid.
