Steroids and steroid derivatives are compounds based on the cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene carbon skeleton, partially or completely hydrogenated; there are usually methyl groups at C-10 and C-13, and often an alkyl group at C-17. By extension, one or more bond scissions, ring expansions and/or ring contractions of the skeleton may have occurred. (-)-Funingenoside C is found in Parepigynum funingense. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1S,4R,5R,6S,9R,10R,13R,14R)-6-{[(2S,4R,5S,6S)-4-methoxy-6-methyl-5-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-9,13-dimethyl-17-oxo-14-[(3R)-5-oxooxolan-3-yl]tetracyclo[11.3.1.0¹,¹⁰.0⁴,⁹]Heptadecan-5-yl acetate. |
