Description7-O-Methylmangiferin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as xanthones. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a xanthene moiety conjugated to a ketone group at carbon 9. Xanthene is a tricyclic compound made up of two benzene rings linearly fused to each other through a pyran ring. 7-O-Methylmangiferin is found in Iris germanica, Iris nigricans, Polygala sibirica and Polygala tenuifolia . 7-O-Methylmangiferin was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 15974611). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on 7-O-Methylmangiferin (PMID: 29997352) (PMID: 21552369) (PMID: 18550076).
