Common NameSafghanoside H
DescriptionMethyl (2S,3E,4S)-3-ethylidene-4-[2-(4-{2-[(2S,3E,4R)-3-ethylidene-4-{2-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-5-carbonyloxy]ethyl}phenoxy)-2-oxoethyl]-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-5-carboxylate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. Safghanoside H is found in Syringa afghanica and Syringa persica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl (2S,3E,4S)-3-ethylidene-4-[2-(4-{2-[(2S,3E,4R)-3-ethylidene-4-{2-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-5-carbonyloxy]ethyl}phenoxy)-2-oxoethyl]-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-5-carboxylate.
