Description | 12-Methoxy-13-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,5,10,17-tetraoxapentacyclo[9.6.2.0²,⁶.0⁸,¹⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁹]Nonadeca-1(18),2(6),7,11(19),12,14-hexaene-9,16-dione belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydrolyzable tannins. These are tannins with a structure characterized by either of the following models. In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. Nyssoside is found in Camptotheca acuminata, Crypteronia paniculata, Nyssa sinensis, Nyssa sylvatica and Phyllagathis rotundifolia. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 12-methoxy-13-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,5,10,17-tetraoxapentacyclo[9.6.2.0²,⁶.0⁸,¹⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁹]Nonadeca-1(18),2(6),7,11(19),12,14-hexaene-9,16-dione. |
