These are saponins in which the aglycone moiety is a steroid. The steroidal aglycone is usually a spirostane, furostane, spirosolane, solanidane, or curcubitacin derivative. (-)-Shatavarin X is found in Asparagus racemosus . It was first documented in 2022 (PMID: 35489815). Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on [(2R,3S,4S,5R,6S)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-{[(2R,3S,4S,5R,6R)-4-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-[(1'R,2R,2'S,4'S,5S,7'S,8'R,9'S,12'S,13'S,16'S,18'R)-5,7',9',13'-tetramethyl-5'-oxaspiro[oxane-2,6'-pentacyclo[10.8.0.0²,⁹.0⁴,⁸.0¹³,¹⁸]Icosane]oxy]-5-{[(2S,3R,4R,5R,6S)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]methyl acetate (PMID: 35489814) (PMID: 35489813) (PMID: 35489812) (PMID: 35489811).
