These are alkaloids that contains the tetracyclic aporphine skeleton with two C=O groups at the 4- and 5-positions. 4,5-Dioxodehydroasimilobine is found in Aristolochia contorta , Aristolochia elegans , Aristolochia heterophylla Hemsl , Aristolochia indica, Aristolochia kaempferi, Aristolochia liukiuensis, Aristolochia mollissima, Aristolochia triangularis, Fissistigma glaucescens, Fissistigma oldhamii, Houttuynia cordata , Piper sarmentosum and Telitoxicum glaxiovii. NORARISTOLODIONE is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
