Description3,4,10,11-Tetramethoxy-13-methyl-7,8-dihydro-6λ⁵-azatetraphen-6-ylium belongs to the class of organic compounds known as protoberberine alkaloids and derivatives. These are alkaloids with a structure based on a protoberberine moiety, which consists of a 5,6-dihydrodibenzene moiety fused to a quinolizinium and forming 5,6-Dihydrodibenzo(a,g)quinolizinium skeleton. 13-Methylpalmatine is found in Arcangelisia flava, Archangelicia flava, Corydalis bungeana , Corydalis cava, Corydalis cava (L.) Schw.et Koert , Corydalis intermedia, Corydalis nobilis, Corydalis bulbosa, Corydalis turtschaninovii, Corydalis yanhusuo and Taxus chinensis. 3,4,10,11-Tetramethoxy-13-methyl-7,8-dihydro-6λ⁵-azatetraphen-6-ylium is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
