Description(12BS)-3,4,9,10,11-pentamethoxy-7,8,12b,13-tetrahydro-5H-6-azatetraphene belongs to the class of organic compounds known as protoberberine alkaloids and derivatives. These are alkaloids with a structure based on a protoberberine moiety, which consists of a 5,6-dihydrodibenzene moiety fused to a quinolizinium and forming 5,6-Dihydrodibenzo(a,g)quinolizinium skeleton. (-)-O-Methylthaicanine is found in Parabaena sagittata and Parabaena sagittata Miers. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (12bS)-3,4,9,10,11-pentamethoxy-7,8,12b,13-tetrahydro-5H-6-azatetraphene.
