DescriptionAll-trans-4,4'-diapo-zeta-carotene, also known as 4,4'-diapo-ζ-carotene, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. Thus, all-trans-4,4'-diapo-zeta-carotene is considered to be an isoprenoid. 4,4'-Diapo-zeta-carotene is found in Staphylococcus aureus 209P and Streptococcus faecium UNH 564P. Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on all-trans-4,4'-diapo-zeta-carotene.
