| Description | (1R,4R,6S,7S,10S,12R,14R)-6,10-dimethyl-3,11-dioxapentacyclo[8.4.1.0¹,⁷.0⁴,¹⁴.0⁷,¹²]Pentadec-8-en-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as gamma butyrolactones. Gamma butyrolactones are compounds containing a gamma butyrolactone moiety, which consists of an aliphatic five-member ring with four carbon atoms, one oxygen atom, and bears a ketone group on the carbon adjacent to the oxygen atom. Xanthipungolide is found in Xanthium pungens. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,4R,6S,7S,10S,12R,14R)-6,10-dimethyl-3,11-dioxapentacyclo[8.4.1.0¹,⁷.0⁴,¹⁴.0⁷,¹²]Pentadec-8-en-2-one. |
