DescriptionClovane-2beta,9alpha-diol, also known as clovane-2β,9α-diol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. These are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. Thus, clovane-2beta,9alpha-diol is considered to be an isoprenoid. Clovane-2beta,9alpha-diol is found in Artabotrys hexapetalus, Artabotrys uncinatus , Callicarpa pedunculata, Canella winterana, Chrysanthemum indicum , Cyperus longus , Dipterocarpus pilosus, Dysoxylum densiflorum, Eupatorium fortunei, Laurus azorica, Salvia aspera, Salvia canariensis, Salvia chinensis, Schisandra plena and Viguiera oaxacana. Clovane-2beta,9alpha-diol was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18520092). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Clovane-2beta,9alpha-diol (PMID: 30989951) (PMID: 33172193).
