These are flavones with methoxy groups attached to the C2' atom of the isoflavone backbone. 5,7,2',4'-Tetrahydroxy-5'-methoxyisoflavone is found in Piscidia erythrina and Piscidia piscipula. 3-(2,4-Dihydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
