DescriptionCerulenin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as oxirane carboxylic acids and derivatives. Oxirane carboxylic acids and derivatives are compounds containing an oxirane ring bearing a carboxylic acid group (or a derivative thereof). Cerulenin is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). (+)-Cerulenin is found in Cephalosporium caerulens. An epoxydodecadienamide isolated from several species, including Acremonium, Acrocylindrum and Helicoceras.
