These are polycyclic compounds containing a 2-isoflavene skeleton which bears a ketone group at the C4 carbon atom. 8-Chloro-3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyisoflavone is found in Streptomyces sp. OH-1049. 8-Chloro-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
