| Description | 1,10-Epoxyfuranoeremophilane belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthofurans. Naphthofurans are compounds containing a furan ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 5 membered- ring aromatic ring with four carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. [1aS-(1aalpha,4alpha,4aalpha,9aS*)]-1a,2,4,4a,5,9-Hexahydro-4,4a,6-trimethyl-3H-oxireno[8,8a]naphtho[2,3-b]furan is found in Senecio glastifolius and Senecio leptolobus. [1aS-(1aalpha,4alpha,4aalpha,9aS*)]-1a,2,4,4a,5,9-Hexahydro-4,4a,6-trimethyl-3H-oxireno[8,8a]naphtho[2,3-b]furan was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 12132680). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 1,10-epoxyfuranoeremophilane (PMID: 12608854). |
