Common Name3,4-Methylenedioxy-2',4'-dimethoxychalcone
Description3,4-Methylenedioxy-2',4'-dimethoxychalcone, also known as 3,4-MD-DMC, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cinnamic acids and derivatives. These are organic aromatic compounds containing a benzene and a carboxylic acid group (or a derivative thereof) forming 3-phenylprop-2-enoic acid. Thus, 3,4-methylenedioxy-2',4'-dimethoxychalcone is considered to be a flavonoid. 3,4-Methylenedioxy-2',4'-dimethoxychalcone is found in Millettia erythrocalyx. It was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 12453522). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3,4-Methylenedioxy-2',4'-dimethoxychalcone.
