Natural Product Identification
Common Name5,7,4'-Trihydroxy-6-methyl-8-prenylflavanone
Description6-Methyl-8-prenylnaringenin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 8-prenylated flavanones. These are flavanones that features a C5-isoprenoid substituent at the 8-position. Thus, 6-methyl-8-prenylnaringenin is considered to be a flavonoid. 5,7,4'-Trihydroxy-6-methyl-8-prenylflavanone is found in Eysenhardtia texana. 5,7,4'-Trihydroxy-6-methyl-8-prenylflavanone was first documented in 2006 (PMID: 17190443). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-Methyl-8-prenylnaringenin.
