| Description | Pongol methyl ether belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furanoflavones. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a furan ring fused to a flavan-3-one. Thus, pongol methyl ether is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. Cauliflorin A is found in Millettia erythrocalyx and Millettia pinnata. Pongol methyl ether is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
