Common NameStevein
DescriptionStevenin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as neoflavones. These are neoflavonoids with a structure based on the 4-phenylcoumarin skeleton. Thus, stevenin is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. Stevein is found in Dalbergia cultrata , Dalbergia odorifera and Dalbergia stevensonii. Stevenin is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
