These are isoflavonoids carrying a methoxy group attached to the C4' atom, as well as a hydroxyl group at the C3'-position of the isoflavonoid backbone. Thus, 7-hydroxy-3-[3-hydroxy-4-methoxy-5-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)phenyl]-5-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 7,3'-Dihydroxy-5,4'-dimethoxy-5'-prenylisoflavone is found in Erythrina eriotriocha. 7-Hydroxy-3-[3-hydroxy-4-methoxy-5-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)phenyl]-5-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
