| Description | Piscerythrinetin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylisoflavones. These are isoflavones with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, piscerythrinetin is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5,7-Dihydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxy-5'-prenylisoflavone is found in Piscidia erythrina and Piscidia piscipula. Piscerythrinetin is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
