Description2'-Hydroxy-5'-methoxybiochanin a belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylisoflavones. These are isoflavones with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, 2'-hydroxy-5'-methoxybiochanin a is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 2'-Hydroxy-5'-methoxybiochanin A is found in Erythrina eriotriocha and Erythrina sigmoidea. 2'-Hydroxy-5'-methoxybiochanin a is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
