Natural Product Identification
Common Name5-Hydroxy-4'-methoxyisoflavone
DescriptionPallidiflorin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylisoflavones. These are isoflavones with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, pallidiflorin is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5-Hydroxy-4'-methoxyisoflavone is found in Glycyrrhiza pallidiflora. Pallidiflorin is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
