Natural Product Identification
Common Name3'-O-Methyliriskumaonin
DescriptionIriskumaonin methyl ether belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylisoflavones. These are isoflavones with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, iriskumaonin methyl ether is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 3'-O-Methyliriskumaonin is found in Ateleia herbert-smithii, Iris germanica , Iris japonica , Iris kemaonensis, Iris sofarana, Iris soforana and Iris tingitana. Iriskumaonin methyl ether is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
