DescriptionIristectorigenin b belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 3'-o-methylisoflavones. These are flavones with methoxy groups attached to the C2' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, iristectorigenin b is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5,7,4'-Trihydroxy-6,3'-dimethoxyisoflavone is found in Eriocaulon cinereum, Iris domestica, Iris florentina, Iris germanica , Iris japonica, Iris pseudacorus, Iris spuria and Sophora tomentosa. Iristectorigenin b is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
