Description3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-7-hydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylisoflavones. These are isoflavones with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the isoflavone backbone. Thus, 3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-7-hydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 7-Hydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxyisoflavone is found in Amburana cearensis, Butea monosperma, Cladrastis kentukea, Cladrastis platycarpa, Cladrastis sikokiana, Dalbergia spruceana and Sophora secundiflora . 3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-7-hydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
