Common Name3-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavanone
Description(2R,3R)-3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7- methylenedioxyflavanone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 5-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C5 atom of the flavonoid backbone (2R,3R)-3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7- methylenedioxyflavanone is a secondary metabolite. Secondary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically non-essential metabolites that may serve a role as defense or signalling molecules. In some cases they are simply molecules that arise from the incomplete metabolism of other secondary metabolites. 3-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavanone is found in Persicaria lapathifolia, Pisonia aculeata, Polygonum nodosum and Thanatephorus cucumeris. 3-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavanone was first documented in 2018 (PMID: 29381070). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2R,3R)-3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6,7- methylenedioxyflavanone.
