Description(2S)-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6-methyl-2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 5-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C5 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, (2S)-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6-methyl-2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-4-one is considered to be a flavonoid. Comptonin is found in Comptonia peregrina . Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2S)-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6-methyl-2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-4-one.
