DescriptionBayin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid 8-c-glycosides. Flavonoid 8-C-glycosides are compounds containing a carbohydrate moiety which is C-glycosidically linked to 8-position of a 2-phenylchromen-4-one flavonoid backbone. Thus, bayin is considered to be a flavonoid. 8-beta-D-Glucopyranosyl-4',7-dihydroxyflavone is found in Castanospermum australe , Cladrastis platycarpa, Cladrastis spp. and Sophora subprostrata. 8-beta-D-Glucopyranosyl-4',7-dihydroxyflavone was first documented in 2007 (PMID: 17365189). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Bayin (PMID: 34676727) (PMID: 27978995).
