Common NameAxillarin 7-glucoside
DescriptionAxillaroside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. Thus, axillaroside is considered to be a flavonoid. Axillarin 7-glucoside is found in Artemisia taurica, Bidens pilosa, Brickellia glutinosa, Centaurea bracteata, Centaurea bracteata Scop., Centaurea coronopifolia, Centaurea jacea, Centaurea solstitialis, Neurolaena macrocephala, Neurolaena venturana, Parthenium tetraneuris, Santolina chamaecyparissus , Stizolophus coronopifolius, Strychnos axillaris, Tetragonotheca ludoviciana and Tetragonotheca repanda. Axillarin 7-glucoside was first documented in 2013 (PMID: 23421930). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Axillaroside.
