Description5,3',4'-Trihydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone, also known as THTMF, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 8-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C8 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, 5,3',4'-trihydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Calycadenia ciliosa, Calycadenia multiglandulosa, Gutierrezia resinosa, Gutierrezia texana, Helichrysum spp., Madia spp., Stachys aegyptiaca and Wilkesia hobdyi. 5,3',4'-Trihydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
