DescriptionQuercetin 3,3',4'-trimethyl ether belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 4'-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C4' atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, quercetin 3,3',4'-trimethyl ether is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-3-methoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Achillea santolina, Ageratina havanensis, Artemisia campestris, Barbacenia conicostigma, Barbacenia rubro-virens, Betula nigra , Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Cistus spp., Ericameria diffusa, Eriodictyon trichocalyx, Erythranthe lewisii, Eucryphia lucida, Eucryphia milliganii, Flourensia cernua, Grindelia hirsutula, Grindelia nana, Grindelia robusta, Iochroma warscewiczii, Mimulus lewisii, Petunia surfinia, Pulicaria canariensis and Siegesbeckia jorullensis. Quercetin 3,3',4'-trimethyl ether is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
