These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C8 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, rivularin (flavone) is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 5-Hydroxy-2-(2-hydroxy-6-methoxyphenyl)-7,8-dimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Lagochilus leiacanthus, Scutellaria baicalensis , Scutellaria indica and Scutellaria rivularis . Rivularin (flavone) is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
