Rapanone is found in Aegiceras corniculatum, Ardisia crenata, Ardisia japonica, Ardisia oxyphylla, Ardisia spp., Badula barthesia, Connarus monocarpus, Embelia ribes, Embelia schimperi, Heliotropium indicum Ardisia crenata , Myrsine spp., Oxalis purpurata, Rapanea laetevirens, Rapanea maximowiczii, Rourea santaloides and Tapeinosperma pseudojambosa. Rapanone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
