These are organic compounds containing a system of three linearly fused benzene rings. Aloin A is found in Aloe arborescens , Aloe berhana, Aloe boylei, Aloe castanea, Aloe ferox , Aloe marlothii , Aloe megalacantha, Aloe perryi, Aloe pulcherrima , Aloe rivae, Aloe sabaea, Aloe saponaria , Aloe spp. , Aloe striata, Aloe barbadensis , Rhamnus cathartica , Rhamnus frangula , Rhamnus purshiana , Rumex acetosa , Rumex acetosella , Rumex confertus , Rumex crispus , Rumex hydrolapathum and Rumex obtusifolius . Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (10R)-1,8-dihydroxy-3-(hydroxymethyl)-10-[(2S,3R,4R,5R,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]-9,10-dihydroanthracen-9-one.
