DescriptionIsothebaine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as aporphines. These are quinoline alkaloids containing the dibenzo[de,g]quinoline ring system or a dehydrogenated derivative thereof. Isothebaine is found in Papaver atlanticum, Papaver bracteatum , Papaver macrantha, Papaver nudicaule, Papaver orientale , Papaver pseudo-orientale and Papaver pseudorientale. Isothebaine was first documented in 1991 (PMID: 24221321). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on isothebaine (PMID: 9500122) (PMID: 17226487).
