Common Name8-C-Glucosylfisetin
DescriptionFisetin 8-C-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid 8-c-glycosides. Flavonoid 8-C-glycosides are compounds containing a carbohydrate moiety which is C-glycosidically linked to 8-position of a 2-phenylchromen-4-one flavonoid backbone. Thus, fisetin 8-C-glucoside is considered to be a flavonoid. Fisetin 8-C-glucoside is a secondary metabolite. Secondary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically non-essential metabolites that may serve a role as defense or signalling molecules. In some cases they are simply molecules that arise from the incomplete metabolism of other secondary metabolites. 8-C-Glucosylfisetin is found in Pterocarpus marsupium . 8-C-Glucosylfisetin was first documented in 2022 (PMID: 33382023). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on fisetin 8-C-glucoside.
