Common NameGibberellin A97
DescriptionGibberellin A97, also known as GA97, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as c20-gibberellin 6-carboxylic acids. These are c20-gibberellins with a carboxyl group at the 6-position. Gibberellin A97 is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, gibberellin A97 has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as persimmons, pepper (c. Annuum), cupuaçus, peppermints, and dandelions. Gibberellin A97 is found in Campanula isophylla, Fragaria x ananassa Duch.cv.Elsanta, Lolium perenne and Solanum lycopersicum . This could make gibberellin A97 a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
