Outside of the human body, 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranosylproanthocyanidin a5' has been detected, but not quantified in, cocoa and cocoa products. This could make 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranosylproanthocyanidin a5' a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
