| Common Name | Typhaneoside |
|---|
| Description | Typhaneoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Typhaneoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Typhaneoside has been detected, but not quantified in, ginkgo nuts and narrowleaf cattails. Typhaneoside is found in Alangium premnifolium, Calendula officinalis , Chenopodium pallidicaule, Coleogyne ramosissima, Hammada scoparia, Lysimachia fortunei, Opuntia ficus-indica, Primula veris , Typha angustata and Typha latifolia . This could make typhaneoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
