| Common Name | Pentyl glucosinolate |
|---|
| Description | Pentyl glucosinolate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkylglucosinolates. These are organic compounds containing a glucosinolate moiety that carries an alkyl chain. Pentyl glucosinolate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Pentyl glucosinolate has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as brassicas, horseradish, and radish. This could make pentyl glucosinolate a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
