| Description | (S)-Spirobrassinin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as indolines. Indolines are compounds containing an indole moiety, which consists of pyrrolidine ring fused to benzene to form 2,3-dihydroindole (S)-Spirobrassinin is a strong basic compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, (S)-Spirobrassinin has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as cauliflowers, chinese cabbages, and radish. Cyclobranol is found in rice bran. This could make (S)-spirobrassinin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
