| Common Name | Gibberellin A43 |
|---|
| Description | Gibberellin A43, also known as GA43, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as c20-gibberellin 20-carboxylic acids. These are c20-gibberellins with a carboxyl group at the 6-position. Gibberellin A43 is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, gibberellin A43 has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as common pea, fruits, japanese pumpkins, white lupines, and winter squash. Gibberellin A43 is found in Marah macrocarpa and Marah macrocarpus. This could make gibberellin A43 a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
