Outside of the human body, 5,9-epidioxy-3-hydroxyergost-7-en-6-one has been detected, but not quantified in, mushrooms. This could make 5,9-epidioxy-3-hydroxyergost-7-en-6-one a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
